North Direction medicine, Oak. I look up to Oak as an elder that carriers immense strength, wisdom that is grounded in the realities on Earth and one who shows up ancestral endurance. Oak’s roots run wide, often a few times the width of the tree branches above ground ~ to me that speaks of wanting to be here on earth, knowing how to take up space, and how to be firmly here, grounded, and connected. There is also a quiet medicine in boundaries here, that is not made up of force but respect for the space that is needed for a being to thrive.
As a deciduous tree, Oak also reminds me of the cycles and seasons of change. And to live in harmony with our Earth, there is a season of letting go.
