Birch is a teacher of many things including renewal, flexibility, strength and the welcoming of gentle beginnings. For this reason I often think of the upward energy Birch carries with them, the ability to stand up tall, in alignment with our truths, while also understanding we live inside of paradoxes, and if we become too rigid that can cause its own type of illness or dis-ease. While we stand firm in our truths, we learn from Birch that flexibility is also part of what it means to be strong, there is a balance to be found within all things. Birch is a beacon of light to turn to when we are in transitions or beginning something new. Birch shows us that beginnings can be gentle and graceful ~ even if things are breaking, ripping apart, dying, etc; our inner state can be one that is trusting the grace of Wind that breathes new life into all things.
